Conception. Detailed Design and Site Management of a pop-up nursery.

Design and Build of a pop-up nursery for a German Kindergarten in South-East London. The nursery uses a community hall that is also used by other users in the evening and at weekends. The idea of the pop-up nursery was to provide an environment for children and staff, which could simply be popped out; preventing nursery staff from having to build the nursery from scratch every morning by carrying all the furniture and games into the community hall.

A rotating wall, featuring cloak-space and an ad-hoc library would be opened up in the morning, providing also an area for quiet play. It revealed further pop-up storage and furniture as well as telescopic playhouses, designed for stage 2 of the build., to be added at a future date.
